We have a great team of people working at Brighton School of Music. Everyone here is passionate about music as well as about musical education and teaching music in an accessible way.

Will Nash
Teaches Saxophone, Clarinet, Piano & Songwriting
Brighton School of Music is headed up by Will Nash, a professional multi-instrumentalist with over 20 years' of experience in music, as well as many years teaching. He's performed around the globe, including at renowned events including Glastonbury, European tours, and songwriting camps in the USA. Will’s lessons are full of energy, creativity, and encouragement, inspiring students to grow both technically and musically while having fun

Matthew Clark
Teaches: Singing
Matthew is a singing teacher, skilled in classical technique. An operatic tenor and actor, he studied Vocal Performance and Opera Performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and has around fifteen years of professional opera and stage experience under his belt.
He tutors students in a wide range of singing styles, from classical and opera, to jazz and pop, and to rock and metal.

Felix Essex
Teaches: Guitar
After developing a passion for guitar from an early age and gaining experience touring as a session musician later on, Felix has enjoyed working as a guitar teacher both privately and in schools since November 2021.
Whether this is unlocking an initial interest for earlier pupils or providing mentorship for those wishing to take their playing to the next level, Felix hopes to inspire whoever he teaches, from whichever background they are from.

Guy Jones
Teaches Bass Guitar and Music Theory
Guy is an Australian-born multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and performer with over 17 years’ experience on stage and in the studio. He has toured the UK, worked with internationally renowned producers, and performed at major festivals.
Guy has been teaching students of all levels, helping them develop their musicality, creativity, and unique artistic voice.

Emma Fitzherbert
Teaches: Flute, Piano & Songwriting
Emma began learning music at a young age, and the fun, engaging lessons she received inspired her to pursue music further, leading to a First-Class degree in Music from the University of Southampton.
Alongside teaching, Emma composes music for short films, and has previously taught Composition Skills.
She believes music lessons should be enjoyable, encouraging, and tailored to each individual.

Fran Murray
Teaches: Music Production
Fran is a producer, artist writer and teacher. Performing under her solo punk alias BLAB since 2016, she has released original music, and had airplay on BBC Radio 1, Radio X, Absolute Radio and BBC 6 Music.
She teaches music production both in-person and online, with a focus on making the process accessible for beginners.

Tim Spencer
Teaches: Drums
Tim Spencer is an accomplished drummer with over a decade of professional touring and recording experience. His career includes performances at leading UK and European festivals, multiple international tours, appearances on major UK and European TV and radio shows, and features on international radio airplay. He is passionate about teaching the drums from his studio in Brighton.

Jonah
Halley
Teaches: Songwriting
Jonah is a songwriter, performer and teacher, passionate about unleashing young people’s creativity. Musical from a young age, he has been writing and performing for years, bringing energy and inspiration to every session. At Brighton School of Music he runs the Saturday Songwriting Club (10–11am), guiding kids to create original lyrics and melodies, and collaborate with others.

Dani Bruton
Teaches Singing & Songwriting
Danielle is a professional vocalist and vocal coach with a BA (Hons) in Professional Musicianship from BIMM Brighton, plus specialist qualifications in Vocal Pedagogy and Vocal Health. She has over a decade of experience performing across the UK at weddings, corporate events, and major festivals including Love Supreme, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, and The Great Escape.

Ellie Bull
Business Support
Ellie supports Brighton School of Music from a business perspective, making sure everything runs smoothly. With over 14 years’ experience in sales and marketing, she’s passionate about supporting the school’s mission to bring music into the lives of more people across Brighton & Hove. While not a musician herself, Ellie loves seeing the joy and confidence music can bring to students of all ages.
